As mentioned a couple days ago, it’s high time SB started to at least pretend to take care of me as much as I take care of it. That means such things as Amazon Associate stores, affiliate programs and – yes – the dreaded banner ad. Frankly I’ve grown tired of doing this strictly out of the kindness of my heart.
Of course, WordPress has to go and inconvenience me by severely limiting my monetization options unless I moved the blog off their servers. I suppose y’all know what that meant:
Yup. Something about death, destroyer of worlds ….
It meant switching the DNS back to Go Daddy, which is major surgery even in the best of conditions. I wasn’t entirely sure I’d be back online tonight, if at all.
But since you’re reading this, you can safely assume I was marginally successful. Unfortunately, the “Splendio” blog theme I chose isn’t worth a damn off the WordPress servers. After struggling for hours with that (while entertaining an eight-year-old at the same time, I might add), I finally gave up and switched to the “Admired” theme you behold tonight.
It looks like I was able to successfully import all of the previous posts, but I might be missing some of the images. I intend to spend the next couple hours tweaking the theme as well. Everything is backed up, though. I think the worst is over.
And hey, I’m not sore anymore!
